Samantha Woodward, Olympic Hopeful describes life as a competitive swimmer.  She competes against the best college swimmers from the University of Texas, Texas A&M and SMU.  In addition to swimming on the Chesapeake team, Sam is also a member of the Edmond Memorial High school athletic team coached by Steve Riggs.  For all high school athletic teams, the pinnacle of competition is the state high school championship meet; and Sam has excelled there, holding five individual Oklahoma high school records in the 50- and 100- yard freestyle, the 100 backstroke, the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medleys.
