A reception welcoming Shirley Jones was held at Mr. and Mrs. Riley F. Fitzhugh’s residence in 2007.
At the reception Mrs. Jones was presented with several awards by acting governor, Lt.  Governor Jari Askins, who also declared October 13 2007 to be Shirley Jones Day,.
She was also presented the newest issue of distinctly Oklahoma magazine by Clif’ Warren the editor.  Mrs. Jones graced the cover. 
Shirley Jones was in town to celebrate the Oklahoma Centennial.  Shirley is best known for her work in the musical Oklahoma and on the television series The Partridge Family.
